PROVENANCE
I was introduced to the wacky world of wavefront reconstruction at a Society for Photgraphic Education Conference in 1978. Dr. Tung Jeong, ("You can call me 'TJ', unless you are older than me. Then you can call me 'Sonny'") who made a couple of holograms on a vibration isolation table complete with laser in a darkened room in front of a group of photo teachers. It was "The Day That Changed My Life". (Warning: it is a .wmv file, so Mac users or really anybody, can have problems. Movie was done for the National-Louis University class TIE 585AC, Digital Storytelling.)
Currently I maintain the only functioning hography lab in the City of Chicago, and still bang my head against the wall trying to wring out results. Here is a gallery of my favorite images through the ages.
