SLICED BREAD PHENOMENON

This phrase has been attribued to John Klayer, noted cave holographer. It accurately describes the fringes on an object recorded in the Single Beam Reflection technique with a laser of short coherence; along the Z-Axis (the depth) of the hologram there are parallel black stripes on the object, kind of like looking at a loaf of bread from the heel of it.

One of these days I'll post a picture of this when it happens to me, as none of my holograms show any of these defects, I am so good!
