Wikipedia or the official ORWO site are the best source of information on the history of the company as there are no lovingly compiled, substantive web sites like there are for Ilford or Kodak. Neither of these sites mention the rumor that they ahd polluted a nearby lake so badly that you could process film in its water! They started in the photographic motion picture film in 1910, and still produce B&W movie stock. And holographic film and plates!
