RAPID FIXER CONCENTRATE

Part A:
900 mL  Ammonium Thiosulfate
40 g  Sodium Sulfite
28 ml Glacial Acetic Acid
20 g  Boric Acid (Crystals)
Top up to one litre water

Part B:
60 g  Water
40 g  Aluminum Sulfate
2.5 g  Sodium Bisulfate
Water to make 106 mL

Mixing:  To one quart of water, add one-half of solution A.  Add slowly, with stirring, 53 ml of Solution B.  Add Water to make one-half gallon of Fixer.

Fixing Time: Twice the time it takes to clear a plate, usually 2 to 4 minutes.

Temperature:  20C              Agitation:  Intermittent

Shelf life: This stock solution lasts practically indefinitely, dump it when it starts to take longer than 5 minutes to clear a plate
